Hawaiian Cultural Activities
Immerse yourself in the culture of Hawaii with special activities available exclusively to resort guests. Space is limited, stop by the Front Desk to reserve your place. Schedule includes:
- Thursdays & Saturdays - 8:30am-9:30am: Ukelele Lessons in the Gazebo
- Tuesdays & Wednesdays - 9:30am-10:30am: Hula Lessons at Coconut Grove
- Fridays - 9am-11am: Open market featuring Hawaii-made products & Lei making lessons
Come together on the pool deck every Thursday evening to celebrate legends of Hawaiian music. Free and open to the public, the concert is held every Thursday from 5 to 7 p.m. at Don's Mai Tai Bar. First come, first served based on table availability.
Don't miss the oceanfront Voyagers of the Pacific Luau presented by award-winning Tihati Productions. A sumptuous dinner and open bar complements a dramatic presentation of Polynesian song, dance and a fire knife finale celebrating the Hawaiian culture.

Don't skip your workout on vacation, unless you want to! At over 700 square feet, Royal Kona's fitness center is equipped with a variety of state-of-the-art exercise equipment including treadmills, elliptical machines, Nautilus® machines, and Keiser© pneumatic air-based equipment which aims to provide a quieter workout with no loud clanking iron.
For resort guests only, the gym is accessible with your room key from 5am-11pm, daily. Shirt and shoes required. Children under 15 must be accompanied by an adult.
The Royal Kona Resort Tennis Club offers tennis and pickleball for players of all ages and levels. Managed by USTA Hawaii Pacific Inc. you can play like a pro, day or night, with private or group lessons from our professional staff. The Club has four Latexite courts, 3 lit for night play, a pro shop, racquet stringing services, and throughout the year will host special programs and events.
Center your mind, body and spirit, while discovering the Hawaiian mana. Located at the Lohaki Point garden or luau oceanfront stage, one can connect with their surroundings through guided class daily from 7:30am - 8:30am. Sign-up information at the Front Desk.
Explore the ocean without leaving the resort in our protected saltwater lagoon, ideal for kids and beginner snorkelers. Then relax poolside under a cabana or on a daybed. With Don's Mai Tai Bar located just next door refreshing cocktails and tasty snacks are always within reach. Please note that the pool closes daily at sunset, and its opening hours vary depending on the season.
