When you book an all-inclusive family vacation at Royal Kona, you get the best that the Big Island has to offer. Our friendly and accommodating hotel staff will treat you and your family like royalty, and you will have the chance to stay in rooms that offer only the finest ocean views.
Royal Kona enjoys the benefits of a central location in Kailua-Kona, putting us within arm's reach of just about any shop or activity you can imagine. Our town is a hub for some of the most active and challenging ocean sports, and is a mecca for swimming and diving enthusiasts of every stripe.
If you're traveling on a family vacation that includes young children, you probably won't want to subject them to extremely tiring and rigorous activities; fortunately, there are also plenty of opportunities in our town and our resort to take things easy while still getting to enjoy Hawaii's brilliant ocean.
The seafront of Kailua-Kona consists of a rocky coastline, and most resorts in this area don't have a way for their visitors to go swimming on the premises; royal Kona is one exception, having exclusive access to a natural lagoon that is connected to the ocean and sees plenty of sea creatures during high tide, but is also protected from the surf by a natural barrier.
You don't have to travel too far to find a sandy beach, either -only 3 miles from our resort lies White Sands Beach, a park and sandy beach that is free and open to the public. Parking spaces are limited, but it's a great place for the whole family to enjoy the waves. The beach is also known as Magic Sands because of its fickle nature - on some days, the waves wash away the sand, only to bring it back the next day, as if by magic.
If you prefer to stay dry, you can simply go for a walk or drive along Kailua-Kona's famed Ali'i drive - a miles long road that follows the coast along palm tree lined gardens, resort grounds and coastal promenades, and where our own resort is located as well.
Some travelers try to see everything and do everything, with an active vacation schedule that doesn't leave a single minute unaccounted for; but if you're traveling with family, especially one that has small children, you may benefit from immersing yourself in the classic Hawaiian attitude that encourages mindfulness, relaxation and enjoyment of the moment over strenuous attempts to tick off check boxes on magazine inspired lists of things to do.
Whatever your style, you can find a way to pass time in Kailua-Kona that fits your speed and interests - and your children's, too! Reserve your all-inclusive Hawaii vacation today, and start creating your own Big Island adventure!
